Have I talked about the Officially Unofficial Desert Vista Dyeworks Monthly Sock Club? I have been doing it all year and it have helped a ton in getting Operation Sock Drawer completed. I was even knitting two pairs of socks a month before the Husband came back from his business trip!
So she says she is doing it again next year, I am not sure if she is going to change anything, but right now you knit a pair of socks in Desert Vista Dyeworks yarn each month and you get prizes! Seems like a win-win right? This month I am working on some Christmas socks. These are in her sparkle base and the colorway is Holiday Wreath.
I have also finished up a year long swap that I was doing. It was something that I shouldn’t have done. One of my resolutions last year was to not do these swaps anymore and I broke it right as soon as the year started. The idea was to knit one or two ornaments a month and send a nice bunch of ornaments now. Well I made my January ones right away. Then I stopped. My friend Melissa had the same thing happen. We have complained about how we never should have done this for weeks now. I finally made all the ornaments and I am afraid that my partner will be disappointed when she sees the other packages. I am sure I will be happy when I get mine, unless my partner flakes on me, but maybe I deserve to be flaked on this time. I did send some candies, a bag, and a nice skein of yarn but I am sad about this one. Here are the ornaments:
And this year I learned about Erin Condren. Actually I learned about her last year, but this year I learned about decorating your planner. Because I needed another hobby. So I take a perfectly good planner layout and decorate it with stickers. Here you can see the one from Halloween and some of my more recent ones including Thanksgiving. I should be too old to play with stickers, but here I am doing it anyway. I know my pictures are hard to see, I think next time I will pull out my macro lens so I can get closer.
Next week I hope to cook a meal that doesn’t give anyone food poisoning as I did when Babykins was three months old and I hope to finish my socks. I still have December to knit and the Husband picked out some yarn the other day at a store so I guess I must knit him some socks too since he doesn’t let me knit that much for him. I also have the following skeins picked out for teachers’ gifts because it would seem that I never learn.
Oh and in stuff I did earlier but didn’t blog about… Here are some fall pictures from around here I live:
Pictures from our trip to Bruges, Belgium last week:
This was a huge park we went to in Germany that has a fountain start up twice a week I think. It took about 15 minutes for the water to make it all the way down. Our legs were so tired the next day:
And here is a cake I made for Chubbs on his birthday in August:
