Over the years I have started a lot of projects that I just haven’t finished. I have been collecting them and they move with me from one place to another. I took some pictures of them. I am sure that there are more hiding here and there but this is what I found:
Maybe that doesn’t look too bad? Well how about this:
There were balls of yarn that were all tangled together. They were wrapped around bags and each other. 😦 That bag all the way to the left? A blanket I have been working on since Alaska. I left Alaska in 2008… Each of those bags holds at least one WIP. Some of those projects were entered into Ravelry and never started!

The tangled mess. Some of these skeins got put back into stash even though they are caked because the project was never even started.
Okay, so I didn’t put pictures of all of the projects here. That would have been a ton of pictures and it wasn’t worth it. Some balls of yarn got put back into stash even though they are caked. I untangled all the yarn and the leftovers are in a basket. That large red tub in the first picture was supposed to hold all my leftover balls of yarn instead of WIPs. I am going to try to get to where I have less WIPs so I can use it for this. I have a lot of leftover balls of yarn that I am not sure what I will use them for, but they are too much yarn to throw out. Some of the sock weight yarn will be incorporated into a baby blanket I am working on, but I don’t know about the rest.
So my plan… I still want to work on new things. My goal is to get to where I am only working on one project at a time and maybe a long term one like a blanket. I also want to cut down the WIPs. So I will try for a two out for every one new project I cast on. Hopefully this way the WIPs will get out of here quickly and I won’t feel guilty about them anymore. Right now I am working on a hat that I started when I first moved here to Germany. It is a bit fussy with twisted stitches in cables so I put it down. I picked it back up last night. Wish me luck!
The exploding bag cracked me up! I *might* have something like that too over here!
