Sigh, Cardigans

I love the way that cardigans look. I love wearing them. I should love knitting them, but here is a secret, I don’t. I do not like the purl back row. It takes me forever and hurts my hand. I tried to use combination knitting, but I couldn’t gauge. This brings me to here:

A sweater that hardly seems to be growing. I need 7.5 inches before I separate out for the sleeves. At this rate I might be done sometime this year:( I need to learn patience.

Do you mean you don't like purling? Have you tried steeking? You knit the sweater in the round and then steek to create an opening. Sounds scary to me, I would never try that 🙂

It isn't that I don't like to purl, I don't mind it. But when I have to do it every other row for the entire row it starts to hurt my hand. And it isn't as fast as knitting the row. I knit continental and was trying to knit combination, but my gauge was off. I have heard of steeking, but I am not sure that I am ready for that yet:) I will just have to slog through it. It can be done, I just finished another cardigan late last year and I love it. It was worth the purling:)
