One of my goals for this year (notice I say goal and not resolution) was to knit 12 sweaters this year. I have already finished one. I am not too sure if I will actually knit one for February. I have already packed up, but I have done so about 3-4 weeks ahead of time. My knitting (my sweater that is) sits in a top bag, but my needles are buried somewhere far away. I have to come to terms with whether I am going to expend the energy to dig them out. I thought I had everything I needed but gauge has thwarted me.
For the record, I despise gauge. I really dislike having to knit before I can get down to knitting. But I have started my swatch for the sweater I spoke about in this post, and it is just not working out. I probably need to go down two needle sizes. Just how deep into bags are my needles? Your guess is as good as mine.
I do need to repack. I had to buy a bigger bag to try and fit my spinning wheel in my luggage. I imagine I could go needle hunting at that point. I just am not sure if the mess it would cause would be worth it. I do still have a pair of socks to knit and a ninja, but the sweater calls to me. Let’s see if the siren song of the knitting lures me in the next couple of days. For now I send curses out to gauge.
