Tea Time and New Knitting and More

Today was a busy day to start out the New Year. There was plenty of laundry and cleaning to do, but also a lot of baking and crafting. I stated and finished a hat. It was with bulky weight so it didn’t take long at all:

I also baked a Guinness cake for the husband totally from scratch with homemade cream cheese frosting:) That is made up of two bricks of cream cheese, a stick of butter, a teaspoon of vanilla, and two cups of powdered sugar. It is so tasty. I think it is much better than store bought. I am glad that I forgot to buy some today and made it from scratch instead.:

I know it doesn’t look great. My cakes and baked items never look great, but they always taste good. It is a dream of mine to open a yarn store one day. In the back there would be a tea/coffee shop with pastries. I would bake them. Of course their appearance is lacking. I have even taken cake decorating classes, but I really lack the patience. I still need to win the lottery to make this happen so for now it will stay a dream.

I also tried out a pot of tea that I got for Christmas. It is a flowering tea pot with flowering tea. Today I had some Jasmine tea. It seems that I can reuse the flower about 3 more times. Isn’t it pretty? It was tasty too!

And last, I finally started to weave with the loom that I got for Christmas. It took me a while to figure it out, but I think it will go well from here:)

Oh your post is fun! The tea flowers are great fun, aren't they? The Guinness cake looks delicious! Will have to try it for my husband too, and the loom and hat? Ah, fibery goodness!
