Gilded

I finished my Snapdragon Tam today. It was done in the same yarn Ysolda used and the same color. The color is Gilded and I think it is a beautiful color, but it would look terrible with my skin tone. This was never meant to be a hat for me. I am sending it off to my friend Mindy in Alaska. I think it will look great on her. I probably need to make her another hat since this one won’t keep her warm during the winters, but I hope she will like it anyway.

It is currently blocking. I will knit another hat for her and then hopefully send it to her. I might even break out the Odessa pattern to make her another hat:) Not sure yet though.

In other news I have just one week left of my maternity leave. I feel like I haven’t gotten a lot done so I am going to try to do some this week. I think that knitting will be down drastically because I want to tackle the garage and clean the house after that. Wish me luck!:)

    Good luck!
The tam pattern is beautiful! It didn't take long to knit. I haven't tried a tam yet.

If you're looking for another warmer hat to make for Mindy, I'd recommend Utopia. It's worsted weight and has some cables so it's warmer than the DK Odessa. I've made two of both patterns, so I can vouch that Utopia is good enough for Alaska winters 🙂

The first picture you posted is gorgeous – did you shoot it under natural light?

I was considering it:) I remember your blue one and I even got some brown yarn for it while at Far North or Quilt Tree once:) On the picture, it was taken in the evening outside in the shade:)
