Rain

I grew up in Virginia. It rains all the time there. And it is very green. I am currently in San Angelo, Texas. I don’t mind it here, it is a lot nicer to me than Alaska was, especially the temperature. Anyway, one thing I miss about Virginia are the rain storms. You don’t get too many thunderstorms in Alaska. You are lucky if you even get one in a year (in Anchorage at least, I can’t speak for the whole state). Since moving to Texas we have had one thunderstorm. Not that I can complain too much, these storms come with hail around these parts. But still I have been missing the rain.

Now let me tell you about the last two days here and hopefully a few more days into the future. First it is raining. Nice cold rain that makes the air smell humid. I love it:) Second it brought with it a wonderful cold chill, probably this winter’s last claim to the thermometer. Babykins has been able to wear the sweater I just knit him and it feel wonderful to sit on the couch under a blanket and knit while having a nice cup of tea. I think tea always tastes better when it is cold outside.

I am sure that we will see more rain, but I feel it will be a while before it is this dreary again. So I am enjoying it while I can. Don’t get me wrong, I like sunny days too, but variety is nice and dreary can be very comfy when you are inside looking out at the pouring rain. Now if only some lightning would join in the show…

The rain is ok but I'm not too fond of thunderstorms. I like having the cooler weather back and wish it would stay a little while.

I've been enjoying a little bit of rain as well around the area. Having grown up near here I can testify to the fact that summer USUALLY brings some pretty good downpours. Last year was bad because of drought, but it is usually not that way. Hopefully this year we'll see a little more moisture! Hugs
